Rainer - BMD

I have transcribed the Birth Marriage and Death index for the name Rainer.

Births and marriages cover the years from 1837 to 1937.

Deaths cover the years from 1837 to 2005.

These can be viewed by clicking here or on BMD in the  menu.

Derives from the Norman personal name Rainer. Made up of the Germanic elements ragin for counsel and hari or heri for army.

Rainer, Rainor, Rayner, Raynor, Reyner, Reiner, Ranner.

Clicking on a heading in the menu bar will bring up an index-page giving further details and links to the content entered under that heading. If a drop-down menu appears this will show similar information but will bypass the index-page for that heading.  Every member of my paternal family has their own page which can be found via the Names - Index of Names page.

You could also use the Search Engine in the menu-bar to find content that is included on this website.

Welcome to my Rainer Family Tree web site!

This is the history of  my paternal family tree beginning with myself, John Rainer, and going back as far as I can trace. I have included all the facts I have found so far, together with certificates and photographs of my ancestors. Please enjoy the web site and let me know if you find any errors or can add new information.

I was born in Abingdon on Thames, now in South Oxfordshire, the town was originally in Berkshire before local government reorganization back in 1974.

My father, Leslie Elwyn Rainer, came from Milford Haven in South Wales. He met my mother, Doris Winifred McIntyre while serving in the army at Aldershot Barracks. His Parents, John Joseph Rainer & Elizabeth Louise Fuller, moved to Milford Haven from Great Yarmouth. Both of these towns had thriving fishing industries at the time, so I imagine the move to be work related.

Also included are many distant ancestors with the name Trorey, emanating from the small market town of Stalham in Norfolk.
